NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION
SUICIDE IS PREVENTABLE sm.
SPECIAL MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
Dear Friend's,
I will take this opportunity to elaborate upon my experience’s and credentials in the Mental Health Care field since 1977 after receiving my degree (BA) in Psychology from the University of California in Santa Barbara,California and post graduate training in clinical psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in Berkeley,California.
I then began a professional Practice of providing counseling and psychotherapy with my mentor and supervisor, Dr. Donald Slutzky, M.D. (Psychiatrist/Physician). I functioned as his registered psychological assistant in his private practice for about two years.
Thereafter, in 1979, I founded Humanistic Mental Health Foundation( HMHF), a California non- profit organization and served in the capacity of Director and Chairman of the board. My duties expanded to Executive director of the administration while I simultaneously maintained a full time counseling practice under the auspices and supervision of the Foundation and the senior staff psychologist's and psychiatrist's
In 1985, I retired from active counseling /psychotherapy practice after over ten thousand clinical hours, so as to expand our operations. In 1989, HMHF became the primary national suicide prevention organization in the U.S.
During this period, I also developed and managed Holistic Treatment Programs for psychiatric hospitals. My studies and interest in human behavior, psychology and the law have also afforded me the opportunity to bring certain important and serious concerns over the insurance industry’s involvement in the mental health care profession before numereous Federal district and circuit Courts.
Presently, I am the Director and sole proprietor of National Suicide Prevention (NSP), 24 HR Counselor (24HR), American Marriage Counseling Association (AMCA), and Rape Crisis Counselor (RCC). My primary functions include Director of Operations and Case Management.
The National Suicide Prevention organization provides case management services via telephone day and night, including assessment of health care insurance benefits, placement recommendations, and/or referrals and/or coordination with a variety of other professional resources that are customized for each client's special situation, needs and interests.
Sometimes people may benefit from receiving counseling and psychotherapy and oftentimes benefit from same by developing greater insights and learning more about oneself.
In my view, the counseling process should stimulate new coping mechanisms that are important to a sense of well being and so forth.
On the other hand, Psychotherapy is a more targeted treatment of a symptom, issue or problem utilizing a variety of scientific principles and techniques with the goal of inducing a change in thinking or behavior or for the reduction of those symptoms towards stabilization and beyond.
We also provide professional counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, mariages and families. Additionally, specialized intensive counseling workshops are conducted in Orlando,Florida.
Our professional staff are licenced mental health professionals who are trusted members of our independent contracting staff, who receive compensation for there professional services directly from NSP.
Upon my receiving and reviewing either general information or psychological/medical records about an individual's confidential personal situation,I may suggest their consideration for an initial consultation by telephone with a member of our licensed professional staff for consultation, assessment, crisis counseling or psychotherapy.
The cooperation and participation of any individual seeking counseling and psychotherapy is both appreciated and a vital part of the process in making assessments for providing professional individual marital, relationship and family counseling services. We are also committed to fully protect the confidential information and records.
In my role of Director Of Case Management,I endeavor to remain available to all new clients/patients. My direct telephone number is: 888-999-4544 or on this website at: "contact us" or by or by email at; 24hrcounselor@earthlink.net or by fax at; 888-780-8878 or U.S mail.
The financial arrangements for professional services rendered by a member of our licensed professional staff begins with an initial consultation and is at the flat rate of one hundred dollars.Thereafter, the rate is one hundred dollars for each hour of individual, marital,or family counseling/psychotherapy provided generally via telephone consultation or face to face. payment arrangements are generally available and affordable.
We are presently seeking donations from individuals and companys, it is my hope that in the near future we can once again offer and administer a grants and benefits program to offset the expences of intensive professional outpatient and inpatient mental HeathCare services.
On behalf of the National Suicide Prevention professionals, support staff, beneficiarys and benefactors, I appreciate the opportunity to work together with those individuals and their families in support of positive goals and objectives and because We believe that and most everyone knows that SUICIDE IS PREVENTABLE sm.
